For the first time, you now have to pay at least €1,000 per month for an apartment on the private rental market in every municipality of Brussels. In 2020, there were still ten municipalities where it was possible to rent for less than €1,000. This is according to the rental barometer of the real estate network CIB.

For a new apartment lease, the average rent amounts to approximately €1,300 per month. Prices vary depending on the municipality.
The lowest rents are found in Jette (€1,036 per month) and the highest in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre (€1,576 per month).

However, according to CIB, there is no reason to celebrate too quickly: “The real concern lies not so much in the price level as in the supply: fewer and fewer homes are being put up for rent on the Brussels market.
